April 23rd,
2006: Hawks - 1, World Bank - 2 The Hawks shot themselves in the foot last weekend in allowing themselves to fall to the World Bank by a score of 2-1. Steady rains from the night before and morning of the game lulled the Hawks into a false sense that the game would be cancelled. It was not and 11 Hawks showed up at the desginated time.
A quick red card within 5 minutes and a hamstring injury just minutes thereafter left the Hawks down two men for the duration of the match. While the team fought valiantly and took the lead in the 55th off a nice collection and finish by Andreas Nydal, the Bank mustered an equalizer in the 75th. With minutes left to play, they scored an opportunisitc go-ahead goal to collect the victory. The Hawks were unfortunate but had no one to blame but themselves. The team looks to rebound strong in a key matchup with LCC International on April 29th.
