Winter 2009 - Hawks Capture DC/VA Open & Amateur Cup Titles, Win APSL
After an undefeated Fall 2008 season which saw the squad capture it's sixth straight Washington Premier League title and claim the inaugural Nations Capital Cup trophy, the team has had a busy Winter season. The Hawks have accomplished major team milestones this winter by claiming a fourth straight DC/VA US Open Cup trophy, and a third straight DC/VA Amateur Cup trophy. In addition, the team has kept form in it's first year of Winter outdoor league action through participation in the Arlington Premier League.
Hawks Win 2009 DC/VA State Titles in USASA National Amateur Cup & US Open Cup, Qualify for Regionals
On January 18th, 2009 - the Hawks defeated ABGC La U 2-1 to capture the 2009 MDCVSA Amateur Cup title. On January 25th, 2009 - they defeated WPL rivals Atletico VA 9-0 to capture the 2009 MDCVSA US Open Cup titles. Check the MDCVSA website for details. Regional rounds of both competitions begin in April.
Arlington Premier League - Winter 2009 Outdoor
The Hawks finished 10-1 in the APSL this winter, finishing as champions (51 GF, 13 GA). The APSL trophy was claimed on February 28th with a 5-4 win in PK's after a 0-0 double OT thriller with with Wobblers FC.

Hawks Claim APSL Title 5-4 in PK Shootout
(Arlington, VA - 5:15 PM, Washington & Lee High School)
The Hawks drew Wobblers FC on a cold Saturday evening to determine the 2009 APL title. The two squads had met only twice in their histories, with each club claiming a victory. The fixture was sure to be a competitive affair, and the few fans that made it were not disappointed. In an exciting match, a worn out Hawks side was able to overcome a determined opponent 5-4 at the penalty spot after 120 minutes of scoreless field play. [Click for More..]
